Barbara Karsch-Chaïeb uses the soil as a natural-cultural archive, in which
stories of places are deposited and space and time materialize in color, graininess
and stratification. She removes the soil and rock material,
removes it from the context of its developmental history and exposes it again to
to other places in space and time.

In the courtyard garden, the earth applications on
and tree trunks are exposed to the weather, and in the Orangeries they are exposed to the
exposed to human intervention.
