Drawings from Berlin, Cologne, Stuttgart and Hamburg on tour, this time
on 18.01.2025, from 12:00 – 18:00 at the
KUNSTHAUS HAMBURG, Klosterwall 15, 20095 Hamburg.
The project AUS DEM KOFFER is intended to connect artists from these cities, reach an interested public and lead to an intensive exchange about drawing.
The project participants in Stuttgart, Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg are inviting illustrators from their cities to produce a drawing for the project AUS DEM KOFFER (Out of the Suitcase), which, when folded, will have a maximum size of DIN A3. A suitcase with the folded drawings will be packed in each of the four cities.
Included: Landscape V, 2024
Earth, rock, pieces of plastic, thread,
folded 26 x 36 cm, opened 104.5 x 73 cm.
Landscape V is a continuation of the
series Landscape I-IV, which was created in 2023.
The drawing makes reference to
landscape, traces and memories.
The fine lines of the predetermined folds and creases of the used paper are emphasised with soil to create a view of a conceivable landscape. Small rectangular pieces of plastic are distributed and sewn onto this uneven surface. On the other side of the drawing there is an application of oil shale rock, which not only reproduces the filigree lines and structures of the materials, paper and rock, but also shows the threads of the sewn-on plastic pieces. They form a network that stretches inconspicuously across the paper, like plastic material that has been (un)secretly spreading and depositing itself all over our world and in the oceans for a long time. Likewise in our bodies in the form of microplastics and gradually in our cultural memories.
