Performance and installation in St. Maria, Stuttgart on 20 April 2024 from 2 pm.
The sentence “(This) land does not belong to us. It belongs to itself” will be written on canvas using earth pigments from around the world. The sentence describes the relationship of an indigenous tribe to land and borders in the United States of America. Before immigrants invaded, most tribes had no boundaries, no written treaties or even fences negotiating land. Earth and soil were seen as Mother Earth, the most precious thing that should be respected and equally available to all people.
With thanks to Salon Populaire.
